  • Unpack, sort, label, and store deliveries appropriately, following stock rotation and food safety procedures.
  • Prepare, weigh, measure, and portion ingredients and food deliveries accurately for lessons, demonstrations, or kitchen activities.
  • Assist with the safe and efficient setup of ingredients, equipment, and workstations.
  • Clean work surfaces, equipment, utensils, sinks, and food preparation areas between lessons.
  • Carry out thorough deep cleaning at the end of each day, including floors, storage areas, appliances, and other kitchen facilities.
  • Maintain hygienic, tidy, and well-organised storage and preparation areas at all times.
  • Follow food hygiene, health and safety, allergen control, manual handling, and workplace procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels, report shortages or damaged goods, and help maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Dispose of food waste and general waste safely and responsibly in accordance with site procedures.
  • Report equipment faults, food quality concerns, spillages, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Work cooperatively with teaching, catering, administrative, and support staff to meet daily requirements.

Required Standards

  • Careful handling and storage of perishable food products.
  • Accurate portioning, preparation, and stock control.
  • Reliable completion of cleaning schedules and daily close-down duties.
  • Professional, respectful, and safety-conscious conduct in a busy working environment.
