Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To undertake general warehouse duties such that an efficient, cost-effective warehouse and distribution service is maintained and to service and maintain the group product code sections.

Set out below are the Key Responsibilities. This is not an exhaustive list, and within reason, additional tasks or duties may be requested still within the overall scope of the role.

Assist when directed, other sections, which have staff shortages or are unable to meet the day's objectives

Key Responsibilities

Packing & Despatching customer orders 

  • To check and pack orders, balance speed and accuracy such that no errors are made, set targets are achieved, and orders are processed at a speed, which causes no delay to the rest of the warehouse process.
  • Follow all H&S operating procedures.
  • Note and follow all customer specific despatch note requirements/information.
  • Update AX and shipper systems with agreed details and costs, select correct despatch address and service required for each order.
  • Pack goods in agreed formats to limit damage in transit.
  • Action customer booking in requirements, complete and email any related excel spreadsheets.
  • Action courier pallet booking requirements with selected courier to ensure accurate collection/delivery times and dates.
  • Safely load daily shipments onto the correct courier, following all H&S operating procedures.
  • Complete all relevant courier manifest documentation.
  • To bag/box, label products and record box contents, balance speed and accuracy such that no errors are made, and set targets are achieved. 

Picking of Customer orders

  • To pick orders via iPad and scanners, balance speed and accuracy such that no errors are made, set targets are achieved, and orders are picked at a speed, which causes no delay to the rest of the warehouse process.
  • Follow all H&S operating procedures.
  • Note and follow all customer specific despatch note requirements/information.
  • To keep primary locations stocked so that product is always available to supply against daily orders. 

Maintenance of Locations

  • Maintain bulk including location records in order that any member of staff can locate any product immediately.
  • Condense stocks where possible to allow for restocking in primary location. Any physical stock movements to be transferred in the system.
  • Follow all H&S operating procedures.
  • Advise the Warehouse Manager of low stocks of selling lines, including stock available for internal make-up.
  • Maintain stock levels so that as required perpetual stock count can be completed and all information recorded with 100% accuracy.
  • Advise the Warehouse Manager of slow/non-moving stocks.

Goods Received

  • Receive delivery into the warehouse and safely unload, following all H&S operating procedures.
  • Scan each product to ensure the correct quantities are received. Immediately inform Warehouse manager of any discrepancy.
  • Scan and locate each product into the correct location, any stocks unable to be located within primary location are to be scanned into overstock location.
